The community of artists that Gray has attracted to Corvidae Collective is symbolized by the gallery's name — "corvidae" is the Latin term for a taxonomic family of birds that includes crows, ravens, rooks, jays and magpies. Often considered the most intelligent of birds, the corvidae family is known for demonstrating self-awareness and cooperative behavior for the common good.

"It's about building a community of like-minded, smart people whose tastes vary from the mainstream art world," Gray says.
